Lets talk Witch......and let me let you into the constitution of a Witches nature....
1. a witch serves nature and not the other way around
2. a witch is protect by nature by the path of the witch she is
3. a witch never preaches she practices
4. a witch is not holding to anything other their her oath and circle and perhaps her coven by the passions and needs as they serve her will...
5. a male is only witch in name if they serve the model of witchcraft however the name is in title only....(not included in the rooting design)
6. witchcraft is an Art and like any art it is there for education, advancement and developing of the spirit
7. witchcraft can't be bought or sold it can be bought into or sold out of but never the heart of it will any ever purchase
8. lessons in witchcraft are free but freedom to pay for what you are is in is usually the first lesson
9. a witches respects extend only to those whom are willing to extend the same to them, and design of ritual or practing
nature will never divide them alone...
10. a male in a ritual of witchcraft is adorned the title of High Priest and as such serves the nature of the Female message as defined by the working and or ritual....
11. an External male influence (such as a mage/sage/shaman/magus/ is afforded the rights of male witch naming and or nature to guide the circles/covens practices if such was deemed as part of their training and or nature with the witch priestess/High priestess justly
12. unity as in coven practices is not the coven/Hp/Mage external or priestesses respects unless they are willing by means of the outer coven/group to practice the working and or ritual in the same nature or season as setup by the root covens design...
(As you can see rules are established not to divide our natures but to remind us of our dedicational actions in ritual and or service to the natured path or road we walk)
what is said above a personal rules, and there are alot more where they came from, but you have to put away the toys and look towards they WHY behind the image of male or female mysteries.......and there hopefully we all will grow more....

and in Wisdom of our Own

the emotional and nature (elemental like) based "naked" image of the body and spirit....though i knew from my intellectual designs before that such was possible in the fertility designs of
Spiritual awakenings and not the "wiccan type" i had never fully understood until i was presented with the option to be "naked in a circle" , not ashamed of my body but new to this world

Is not allowing a bunch of spiritual shaman celtic hacks the right to make their wiccan wisdom "Witch craft" Utterly Wicked?
Is doing mature rituals that require more then just words, soap and thoughts Utterly Wicked?
Is being able to remain a secret but yet thrill the world with hidden wisdom as they ask you to assist them Utterly Wicked?

Not allowing the shaman/Mage trial image of the Dumbledore like makeup Role playing crowd.....to just do Arthurian joust of Pagan garden spirit..and gay like forest dancing...
If it is i'm guilty and proud of it.....
Because to me from where i was to where i am now has been an ever growing understanding that if you bend to fad or ideals that don't stand the test of time, your just another number like on a lottery .....awaiting for your number to come up....unless you throw the ticket away....

Choosing a Coven
There are many ways to honor Nature in our lives. Some of us participate in Pagan rites because there we find nurturance, guidance, and community with like-minded others. An artist, a doctor, a teacher, a technician - the work they do is real, and very necessary, but our religion is not its primary focus. Pagan worship helps them stay attuned with Sacred Source, with the rhythms of Earth and Moon, with the life-affirming values of polytheistic, Immanence-based religion. These are the Pagan laity, gathering again as our faith emerges from its long dormancy. (statements like these are why solitary exist)
Others of us find in Witchcraft (or Asatru, Druidry, or several other Pagan orders) our authentic life's work, our art form. Although Witches, by Tradition, earn our livings elsewhere, we dedicate much of our free time and energy to our Craft. We are not better, holier, or even necessarily more devoted to the Gods; but here is where our talents, and our delight, seem to lie. This is our way of making a difference in the world: Witches heal.
(statement like these are more for pick and choose group like ideals and not true seekers of what brought them to the mysteries to begin with..)
In our observation, people often spend some time exploring the community, reading, attending public circles or festivals. For some, this exploration fosters a hunger. They wish to study more formally, explore more deeply, prepare for Initiation into the priesthood of the Goddess. You may be one of them. (this is the ideal of most, however it depends on your "OATH") to the length of of your study....and eventual practice...
Perhaps you've followed the Old Ways for some time now, and want to go further along this Path, to deepen your experience of Pagan nature mysticism. You may believe you have the necessary talents and temperaments, and wish to use those endowments to serve the people and the Gods as a Witch and priest/ess. What next? Most of us seek formal coven training, hoping to find guidance from experienced elders and companions along the Path. (They find you because you are like them..) because they was where you and they too found someone or something..but not by fully asking for it openly)
What covens can and cannot do for their students
* Magical and spiritual power comes only from the Gods. (not so, it is endowed to those whom share the skills and natures of this learning and it is with assistance so that the (gods) work with and through you or them or both...(however if your egotistical/or don't hold true to how you are, then you want to deny personally noting is without your wish or control, but what do you do when it is?)
* The knowledge and skill you need to use that power effectively come from your own hard work. Coven training is the easiest and safest way to learn and to practice in a supportive context. Alternatively, you might seek individual training from an elder you respect. Be aware that the best training system accomplishes nothing unless you actually do the work. And there certainly are skilled and empowered Witches who are solitary and completely self-trained.
(but that is both on the fact they cared to do it..otherwise they are shaman at best)
* Credentials come from other people. If community recognition is important to you, you should join a coven that is part of a lineage, one whose elders have traditional religious authority to bring others into that collective. If legal clergy status matters, look for a group that is affiliated with one of the duly incorporated organizations like Covenant of the Goddess. Of course, one coven can convey both types of credential -- as Proteus Coven does.
(credentials are based on length of time and nothing that is founded or served as founded in the mystical, true some go a few years back, but if they was so inclined in the power of this line, then why are they asking for help? for new solitary....? ask yourself this...)
Media made the credentials, not the practicing ones....
Be mindful, though, that power, skill, and credentials are three entirely separate things. No one of them can substitute for either of the others, nor prove that either of the others is also present.
Coven Shopping: finding a place to root yourself and grow
If you choose to seek formal training, look for competent training from experienced elders who are authentically spiritual in the context of a functional coven. Remember that you have a choice. Ours is one of the fastest growing religions on this continent. There are many more covens than there were, even ten years ago. Most of these covens make themselves accessible to sincere seekers. As a result, potential students can "shop around," for the best possible coven, the best possible match. (gatherings are established where they attend things and at these places others find others not by words but by actions and feelings) like a cub finding its mother after a long winter storm...
As always, people who have options are responsible for the choices they make. Be thoughtful and careful. Ask for the guidance of the Gods and listen for the still small voice that carries Their response. The quality of your experience depends on the choices you make now.
Here are some things to look for:
* People you can respect, trust and love. (but it goes both ways as well)
* Good people. How could anyone be spiritual without being at least honest and kind? (because they are lost or just trying to find a message to make themselves more, but know after the message is taken or accepted the truth will show itself...always..)
* Authentic people - people who seem to live in accordance with the values they espouse. If they claim to be able to teach you Nature spirituality, do they live lightly on the Earth? If they claim to be able to teach you magic, do they seem to be grounded, centered and empowered? (lol, those are ok, for wicca and newagy but true magic(k) users are just people whom are like you, but they just are a bit more aware of the seasons of life) so judge not on image alone, but judge on actions in that image...)
* Competent people - people who seem knowledgeable and skilled, people who are organized, who keep their appointments and are well-prepared for their classes. (lol again, ever see a witches house, or a druid bookshelf, or even a pagan eating festival, they are messy and often out of time that they magic(k)al are educated or born into...) Competent People..in magic(k) is like Wacko People in Poltics
(depends on the issue and the mindset, but in the end its a duck shoot..)
Example: a guy went into a bookstore to research his dream the woman at the counter recommended 2 books on dreams, never asking the person about their dream, a young kid comes into the store looking for a stone asks the man whom had the dream from seeing he was buying books on it to..tell him the dream... (the man tells) the kid answers it...could be this.... (the man looks way relieved at the information) asked the counter lady and she says it could be that or more then that....the man looks at the books and decided not to buy them.....(the counter woman looked at the kid and then growled)....
"the kid bought the stone"
* People who listen. People who ask the kinds of questions that encourage you to explore your own spirituality and your own ideas and feelings about traditional lore. People who are genuinely open to learning from their students, as well as teaching them.
(this can be good and bad) but mostly it depends on the energy you get and give that will afford you a better choice...)
* People who will respect your confidences. People who will neither gossip nor use information you share to manipulate or hurt you. (true this should be a must, however in covens founded more on solitary actions more and more covens combat because they are "old women sewing circles" and they are very judgmental....at times..
Example another story) a Pagan woman was junior head of her coven, and a group of other coven members was trying to makeup a seasonal ritual because they was new they was given to any choice they wanted however when they chose they chose not on ritual but on joking, the other group laughed and said why not....(the junior one said but aren't we doing things for real, this isn't right) So the head of the group/coven kicked her out for 5 days until she agreed that it was just for fun.....why be so serious, so she left.......
(fun is fun, but respect..thats another thing)
and some things to avoid:
* Authoritarians - stay away from anyone who tries to censor your reading or to isolate you from family or friends. Beware of those who get irritated when you ask challenging questions. Be even more wary of anyone who, when you ask a difficult question, either ridicules you or patronizes you ("let your elders worry about that one, dear, your job right now is just to learn what we teach."). If anybody tries to forbid you to express your opinions in the presence of your elders, run screaming out the door. (all these things have happened)
To voice ones mind is one thing but to accept training in another's art is totally different, be aware that they will not fully censor you but offer you a more rewarding way of expression if they are what they say..if not..i agree with the earlier statement....do that and just say heck no...
* Sexual predators - unfortunately a few of these creeps infest every religion. If somebody tells you that your magical or spiritual advancement depends on your giving them what they want, first spit in their eye, then get away fast.
(sex though it is the last of most modern designs of low level magic(k) used in ritual....it is also a bond and connection in oathing if it was of the ancient or old mind, however i agree you should never offer yourself or nature to just enter....(but if your honest and the ritual of the design is within its rights to be using sexual designs and the persons have followed all the above statements to the letter and your willing to dedicate yourself not to them but to the working then....(your choice becomes your bond and oath)
"lying to get sex in rituals is as old as the greek orgies, however the goal of any true and self secure person whom is seeking advancement into this "mindset" is to be truthful as well.....so if you feel they just want you not for the reason you came, then remove yourself....but remember we live in a mature world that has done alot to taint sex, sexual designs, and even sexual powers....(so don't open yourself up to something you aren't freely willing to offer)
Truth and Trust must go hand and hand.....
(The Great Wiccan Rite for instance) is about man and woman and the nature of life, the fountain of the Delphi Princess is another one, and all rituals of sexual action aren't for the novice anyway...)
* Hypocrites - those who say they love Mother Earth, and live carelessly and wastefully, those who say they love the Goddess and dominate or abuse human women, those who claim to be Spirit-led while their behavior is ego-driven.
(can be found in and out of covens and sometimes are the people themselves wanting entrance, it is only by putting your will to theirs that you get the truth, then you have to live with what you know..)
* Exploiters - but they're not instantly identifiable. Any coven might ask students to take a turn bringing consumable supplies like candles or cookies. Teaching covens may have monetary expenses, such as photocopying or rental for a meeting room -- and it's entirely reasonable for them to charge dues and cover their costs from the common purse thus created. There is some debate in our community about whether a Craft teacher should accept payment for their time and work. This is a matter of opinion, but you can be sure that a teacher who takes payment is not practicing Traditional Witchcraft.
(truthfully another lie, because the nature of information should be free, the idea of acceptance to it is seen as so, but what about your schooling you have a right to it but you still pay for book, transport and time, Everything even if a teacher wants to is not fully free...EVER...) so those whom use this statement above are the Exploiters themselves....because they just denied you the right to judge your education and its worth....(truthfully i wish everything was free, but then we wouldn't be alive would we...)
It's also fair for a teacher or coven to ask you to do your share of set-up and clean-up, or of ongoing coven projects. But if some coven leader expects you to work free in their profit- making business, or act as their domestic servant, run screaming out the door. (lol, again this is a statement made by a cynic and not one whom has ever studied or worked in a coven or honest group)
"in ancient schools one was a indentured servant until they paid their way to the education or worth of the teacher to be worthy of lessons, either by humble action, respectful nature or by will and determination to continue against all odds.....
(why should this be any different in magic(k) as well)
* People who order you to go against your values. Again, this involves some subtle issues. One of the major goals of spiritual development is to learn to hear the still, small inner voice. But some of our inner directives are actually cultural or familial programming. These prescriptions and prescriptions may also be wise, or they may be limiting, or actually evil (consider racial prejudice). They often drown out the voice of authentic Spirit. The best teachers will gently challenge their students to override outworn programming, but never to go against core values. The issue of readiness is also important. If you try to override even the nastiest old programming before you are ready, you might cause a painful backlash. This psychological trauma can actually retard your progress. Beware of insensitive autocrats who try to force all their students into the same Procrustean bed. Don't ever let anybody pressure into doing anything - in or out of Circle - that you believe is wrong. In ritual, we speak to our deepest minds, establishing the moods and motivations that shape our lives. Don't ever do in token what you would not do in truth.
(agreed 100 percent)
Compatibility issues
(is never an issue, only to one whom wants the best and brightest and then leaves after two weeks) If your in anything it is only your oath and self worthy that allow you to remain, remove them and you have magic(k)al removed yourself...
(HOWEVER) if you remove yourself because you fear or doubt the road ahead, study, path, but still want in but an easier way...be advised it will haunt you until your dying day to find out if you was ever worthy...(everyday)
When you accept an art, you study, research and they research you, and if you are what you say then you and they are one, if not, then expect a lot of NO's

cone of power
The Cone of Power is one of the methods of working magic, and refers
to a technique for focusing energy within a magickal circle. The
circle acts as both lens and container for the energy of an
individual or group, creating a "cone" shape before being released
for particular purpose. It doesn't matter how this power is
achieved, using bodily movement, breathing, yoga, chanting, the
scourge, sex, or a mixture of them all, along with sigils as well,
just as long as the Cone of Power is achieved and powerfully so!
The cone is a Triangle and the circle is two pillars sometimes 3 or 4.......
(though the cone doesn't normally exist it was a wiccan design created in the 30's or 40's if i remember.....)
WHY A CONE?
The cone is the shape of energy perceived by those sensitive to the
energy currents. Churches also make use of this shape to direct
energy heavenwards, with steeples situated over the altar, the nexus
of energy raised by the congregation, concentrated by the priest and
released. The witches' hat and magician's hat are reminders of the
shape of this energy.
Most often, within Covens, the 'Path of Dance' and 'Path of Chant',
two of the Eight Paths of the Craft, are used to "raise the cone of
power". However, Paths of Meditation, Trance, Cords and the Great
Rite, or combinations of any of the paths can also be used.
The basic energy is that of the human body, increased tremendously
and extremely powerfully and then suddenly released and channeled in
accordance with Will.
The idea of the cones influences came from the idea of the old image 15th century witch concept of hat.....
though fully sun hats ws used even way before then there was no "truth" image of the witches hat....
The witch or her study aka coven links wear whatever they wanted.....but mosly scarves and shawl like things.....
mostly how ecletic artist of the gypsy and or psychic field tend to do now....
But too each their own, now pass me a cookie......

an Order and or Long lived design grows it tends to deny or remove

Subject: [darkwitch] color meanings
Date: Sat, 26 Apr 2008 23:32:31 -0700 (PDT)
Color
We begin with various occult meanings of color as recorded in history:
BLACK (power both within and without it color is the night or eclipse)
Black is the Kabbalist's color of wisdom. In the West it has been symbolic of death, sorrow, and the underworld. To the Hindu it is time and Kali, the destroying goddess. To the Egyptians black was the color of rebirth and resurrection.
GOLD (not normally a color but is both yellow and brown and both are colors of the body and spirit of intuition)
Gold, the color of the sun has long been a symbol of ma jesty and the divine principle expressed through matter. To the Egyptians gold represented Ra, the sun god. To the Greeks gold was the symbol of reason and immortality as represented by the Golden Fleece found hanging on the tree of life by Jason.
BLUE (spiritual truth, the dedication and enter to touch life itself)
Blue has long been a symbol of intellect, peace, and contemplation. It is water and coolness, the sky and infinity. To the Ancient Greeks blue was the color of Venus, the goddess of love.
From the realm of science we find that blue reduces stress and calms anxiety by triggering hormones that relax the body.
GREEN (Earth, however this earth is 4 sided and it is the power of the elements in unity)
Green symbolizes the life of the sensations, of nature, growth, and decay. It is the color of jealousy. Green also helps heal by evoking feelings of pea cefulness and serenity that slow the heart rate and decrease production of the stress hormones. Just reading green type slows your heart rate.
WHITE (psychic and clarity in the sub forms of the mind)
White is primarily associated with purity, virginity, and transcendence though in the Orient it is the color of mourning.
VIOLET (color is merely a balance of the 2 forces fire and water but it is the invisioned image of royality or special nature, in tantra at sexual _expression the body turns this color)
Violet is known as a mystical color. It combines the authority of red with the sanctity and wisdom of blue. The color has also been associated with sorrow and mourning.
YELLOW (yellow is spirit but its more to grow in it then accept the self as the teacher, bold and beginning)
Unlike gold, the color yellow carries some historically negative meanings. It has been the symbol of faithlessness and betrayal. In the West a yellow flag often indicates disease and quarantine. Yet to China it is the national color and to Buddhists' yellow is the color of humility as shown in the monks' saffron robes.
RED (red is blood, but the blood of life, refered to in sex, however its the body candle of the occult or dark witch) is skill might fool you
Tantra has always taught that red was the color of sexual activity and recent scientific studies have shown that red light stimulates the male reproductive organs and increases muscular tension. Red stimulates the nervous system, elevates blood pressure, increases respiration and raises the body temperature which helps fight infection and decreases sensitivity to pain.
Another study found that students working under red light had better skills at mathematics. Color affects our perception of time and red lighting seems to make time pass more slowly. For more on the magickal interpretations of the color red see Candles: The Colors and the Elemental designation of colors as shown below:
Earth - North, White (green) has no direction
Fire - South, Red (north) because its flame rises
Air - East, Yellow (east and west) because of the passage of the breath, in and out....(air is white by the way)
Water - West, Black (blue) and its south.....however it is only this because it is part of earth...but in the mind it is the earth
The Elements are essential to the drawing of a circle as well as ritual orientation. The Directions and Colors align with the Four Suits of Tarot. (yes and no)
The Tower of Babel, the Babylonian Etemenanki, was designed as a miniature representation of the Universe. It had 7 stages, each representing one of the seven heavens of Babylonian Cosmology. Each level was identified with a planet, and painted a corresponding color. The bottom layer was painted black to represent Saturn (Its mars actually), the next one orange for Jupiter (venus), the third red for Mars (jupiter), the fourth yellow for the Sun, the fifth and sixth blue for Venus and White was for Mercury gold was at the top, because it was and is today the seat......
